descriptionThe functional activities score is calculated using walking and standing (30 point maximum), standard activities (30 point maximum), and advanced activities (25 point maximum). The walking and standing score has a 30-point maximum and is the sum of the scores for the ability to walk without aids (0 points) with deductions (-10 maximum) for type of aids used, duration of standing before sitting due to knee discomfort (15 point maximum), and duration of walking before sitting due to knee discomfort (15 point maximum). The standard activities score has a 30-point maximum and is the sum of the scores for how bothersome the knee is when walking on uneven surface (5 point maximum), turning or pivoting (5 point maximum), climbing up or down stairs (5 point maximum), getting up from low seat without armrests (5 point maximum), getting into or out of a car (5 point maximum), and moving laterally (5 point maximum). The advanced activities score has a 25-point maximum and is the sum of the scores for how bothersome the knee is when climbing ladder or step stool (5 point maximum), carrying a bag for one block (5 point maximum), squatting (5 point maximum), kneeling (5 point maximum), and running (5 point maximum).
