LOINC code75755-9
nameMethicillin susceptible Staphylococcus aureus DNA [Presence] in Specimen by NAA with probe detection
descriptionThis test detects the presence of DNA from methicillin susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA), and can be run on a bacterial isolate or a primary specimen (such as blood or urine) that is presumed to contain infectious microorganisms. This term was created for the New York State Department of Health and is limited for use by public health laboratories, which are unique in that they can sometimes run tests on any sample, either human or environmental, using locally-developed tests. Other organizations, such as hospitals or commercial laboratories, use a term that specifies the particular specimen(s) that the test kit they are using has been approved for.

propertyPrThr  =  Present or threshold:  The Property PrThr stands for “Presence or Threshold”, meaning either a) the actual presence or absence of an analyte, or b) that the amount of analyte detected is over some predetermined threshold.
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemXXX
scaleOrd  =  Ordinal:  Ordered categorical responses, e.g., 1+, 2+, 3+; positive, negative; reactive, indeterminate, nonreactive.

last change typeMIN  - change to field other than name
change reasonThe PrThr property is used for LOINC terms whose results are reported using an ordered categorical scale, regardless of whether or not an internal threshold was used to make that determination. This change was approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.
