descriptionUrinary IgG is used in combination with urinary albumin to distinguish selective vs. unselective forms of tubular proteinuria (that is, increased urine excretion of high-molecular-weight plasma proteins such as IgG in comparison to albumin) as IgG is markedly elevated only in unselective forms of glomerular proteinuria. Urinary IgG can also monitor and assess glomerular proteinuria. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the cobas, Tina-quant IgG Gen.2 test kit.
