Hepatocyte growth factor receptor Ag [Presence] in Tissue by Immune stain   77173-3

LOINC Code

LOINC code77173-3
nameHepatocyte growth factor receptor Ag [Presence] in Tissue by Immune stain
descriptionThe stain is interpreted as positive if 50% or more of the tumor cells show moderate to strong (2+, 3+) membranous staining, indicating MET amplification. MET amplification (positive) has been seen in approximately 22% of non-small-cell lung cases with acquired resistance to anti-EGFR inhibitors. Recent Phase II clinical trails (OAM4558g) results were released at ASCO in 2011 showed that patients who were c-MET positive (2+ or 3+) lived twice as long without disease progression (PFS) when they received MetMAb therapy in combination with erlotinib versus receiving erlotinib alone.

Fully-Specified Name

componentHepatocyte growth factor receptor Ag
propertyPrThr  =  Present or threshold:  The Property PrThr stands for “Presence or Threshold”, meaning either a) the actual presence or absence of an analyte, or b) that the amount of analyte detected is over some predetermined threshold.
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemTiss  =  Tissue, unspecified
scaleOrd  =  Ordinal:  Ordered categorical responses, e.g., 1+, 2+, 3+; positive, negative; reactive, indeterminate, nonreactive.
methodImmune stain

last change typeMIN  - change to field other than name
change reasonThe PrThr property is used for LOINC terms whose results are reported using an ordered categorical scale, regardless of whether or not an internal threshold was used to make that determination. This change was approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.
