LOINC Code

LOINC code94124-5
nameVentilatory threshold [Volume Rate Content]
descriptionThe ventilatory threshold (VT) is the intensity of exercise at which the production of carbon dioxide and consequent increase in ventilation, both of which are related to the production of lactate during exercise, become disproportionately higher than oxygen consumption (VO2). The VT usually occurs at about 60-70% of maximum oxygen consumption. Both VT and maximum VO2 are predictors of mortality in patients with congestive heart failure. [PMID: 21977155] The specific method used to calculate the VT should be reported along with the result.

propertyVRatCnt  =  Volume Rate Content
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
system^Patient
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
