Fractional concentration of exhaled nitric oxide   96269-6

LOINC Code

LOINC code96269-6
nameFractional concentration of exhaled nitric oxide
descriptionThe fractional concentration of exhaled nitric oxide, or FeNO, is used to assess the amount of inflammation present in the lungs. Inflammatory cells produce NO, so higher levels of NO indicate the presence of inflammation. The FeNO test is used to help diagnose allergic or eosinophilic asthma as well as monitor treatment efficacy. [https://www.aaaai.org/conditions-and-treatments/library/asthma-library/feno-test]
