Telehealth was making significant strides in 2019 when suddenly we were smacked in the face with the public health emergency (PHE) due to COVID-19. Due to the high risk of infection, coverage of and the guidelines surrounding payment for telehealth services quickly expanded resulting in record numbers of telehealth encounters in 2020. The CDC states that during the first quarter of 2020 alone, telehealth visits increased by 50%. Was your organization one of the many that quickly expanded telehealth services?
