CMS has instructed the hospitals to use the new HCPCS code C9202 instead of code A9700 to bill for Microspheres and Octafluoropropase (Optison). Code C1207, Ocetreotide acetate, 1 mg, was listed as a deleted code since January 1, 2003. Per CMS, effective 4/1/2003, HCPCS code C1207 was reinstated and should be used to report Octreotide acetate depot, 1mg. HCPCS code C1207 will continue to be paid under APC 1207 for services provided on or after April 1, 2003.
