Effective for services on or after January 1, 2007, a new HCPCS code, G0389, Ultrasound, B-scan and/or real time image documentation; for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening, has been created to capture this service. Ultrasound screening for AAA is an accurate and reliable test that can detect AAA prior to rupture.
