Plateau Iris Syndrome

Effective October 1, 2008, a new code 364.82 has been created to uniquely identify plateau iris syndrome. Prior to this change, this syndrome was assigned to code 364.8, Other disorders of iris and ciliary body. Plateau iris syndrome is caused by an anatomically anterior position of the ciliary processes, which supports the peripheral iris and prevents it from moving backward to open the angle following iridotomy.
