CMS has announced a new Provider Relations Coordinator, Latesha Walker. Latesha is your point of contact for RAC audits.
Medicare will do no additional RAC reviews under the current contract; they are making changes to improve the current program. The final date Auditors sent claim adjustment files to Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC) was June 01, 2014. This program has been paused to make improvements, CMS is establishing a new program to increase transparency and offer more well-organized resolutions to providers affected by the medical review process. If a provider feels a Recovery Auditor who conducted a review is failing to comply with the set rules, the provider is encouraged to contact the new CMS Provider Relations Coordinator, Latesha Walker.
Providers may contact Latesha by sending an email to:
• RAC@cms.hhs.gov (for Recovery Auditor review process concerns/suggestions)
• MedicareMedicalReview@cms.hhs.gov (for MAC review process concerns/suggestions)
