It's no secret that healthcare costs are on the rise. But what's worrisome is that patients' out-of-pocket costs are skyrocketing too.
The average patient's deductible has jumped 49 percent since 2009. This is not only burdensome to patients, but to medical practices as well because outstanding patient balances now make up a greater percentage of overall revenues.
Meaning, staff must be much more diligent about collecting payments from patients.
