Workers’ compensation (WC) fees are the reimbursement rates established for medical services provided to employees who suffer work-related injuries or illnesses. These fees are part of a broader workers’ compensation system, which is a state-regulated insurance program designed to cover medical care, rehabilitation, and wage replacement for injured workers.
There is no single, universal 2025 workers' compensation fee schedule; each state and the federal government have their own, which are often based on information used to calculate Medicare's fee schedules. For current rates, you must consult the relevant state's Department of Labor or Industrial Relations website.
Find-A-Code provides Workers Compensation fees from the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP). Their fee schedule’s legal basis and definition of maximum fees appear in the regulations under 20 CFR Part 10, Subpart D (Medical and Related Benefits). Much like the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, according to OWCP’s guidance, the Maximum Allowable Amount (MAA) for physician/professional services is calculated using a formula based on Relative Value Units (RVUs), geographic practice cost indices (GPCIs), and a national conversion factor (CF). However, their RVUs, GPCIs and CFs often differ from those used by CMS.
Note: State-specific WC fees are NOT included in Find-A-Code. We encourage you to go to your individual state’s Workers Compensation website to review their fees.
