LOINC code62396-7
namePhenX - sudden cardiac arrest protocol 040701
descriptionThis measure assesses if a patient died of sudden cardiac arrest by reviewing symptoms prior to death, timing of death, possible cardiac origin via autopsy evidence, and/or demonstration of a history of cardiac disease via physician questionnaire and medical records review. These protocols should be completed for cases where patients did not survive a sudden cardiac arrest. The physician's questionnaire from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study is to be completed by the physician who signed the death certificate and/or the patient's physician. The second protocol, from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), provides items that should be abstracted from the patient's hospital records.
