A few changes for PET scans
HCPCS codes G0210-G0230 added July 1, 2001, were created to allow billing for all currently covered indications for Fluoro-D-Glucose (FDG) PET. However, these codes did not indicate the type of PET scanner being used. Therefore, effective January 1, 2002, changes to the code descriptors were made to properly reflect the type of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner utilized.
