CMS provides a comprehensive list of new and revised brachytherapy HCPCS codes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a comprehensive list of HCPCS codes to be utilized in the coding and reporting of brachytherapy sources. This comprehensive list identifies new and revised codes for the three sources of brachytherapy (i.e., iodine, palladium, and cesium) that come in stranded and non-stranded forms. According to the list CMS created six new codes to reflect the three sources in brachytherapy and deleted three non-specific brachytherapy source codes that currently exist.
