Several new G-codes (G0245-G0250) were created to implement payment for newly covered Medicare services due to national determinations. As a result of national coverage policies, G-codes G0AAA-G0DDD were also created and become effective October 1, 2002. These new codes were created to accurately describe the services covered, to ensure they were reported correctly, to track their utilization, and to establish payment.
