New HCPCS Level II codes

Three new HCPCS Level II procedure codes became effective October 1, 2020. Code C9761, describes the technology associated with vacuum aspiration of residual kidney stone debris after lithotripsy, code C9768 describes endoscopic ultrasound-guided direct measurement of hepatic portosystemic pressure gradient, and code C9769 was established to describe the technology associated with temporary prostatic implants with anchors and incisional struts. The codes with long descriptors are listed below: HCPCS Code Long Descriptor Effective Date C9761 Cystourethroscopy, with ureteroscopy and/or pyeloscopy, with lithotripsy (ureteral catheterization is included) and vacuum aspiration of the kidney, collecting system and urethra if applicable.
