Tracheobronchial Y-Stent Placement

A patient was brought in for a bronchoscopy with tracheobronchial Y-stent placement for treatment of tracheobronchomalacia. The patient was intubated with an endotracheal tube over the bronchoscope. The airway was examined and appeared normal with minimal secretions. Measurements were made using an endobronchial balloon. Under fluoroscopy a silicone covered metallic Y-stent was placed without complications. The tracheal limb measured 16 mm x 40 mm long, the right main stem measured 12 mm x 20 mm, and the left main stem measured 12 mm x 30 mm long.
