Update on trauma activation codes

Subsequent to the publication date, we learned that CMS has not instructed their fiscal agents about recognizing these codes. Consequently, the use of these new revenue codes could cause a Medicare claim to reject. CMS does plan to send out instructions to their fiscal intermediaries about the use of revenue codes 0681 and 0682 sometime in April 2003 with a targeted effective date of July 1st, 2003. For...
