Effective October 1, 2007, code 388.45 has been created to uniquely report acquired auditory processing disorder. Auditory processing disorder (APD) is a disorder in how auditory information is processed in the brain. It refers to difficulties that affect the processing of auditory intensity, frequency and temporal information in the central nervous system.
