Effective October 1, 2006, a new code 618.84 has been created to uniquely identify cervical stump prolapse. This condition is currently indexed to code 618.81, Uterine prolapse without mention of vaginal wall prolapse. The American College of Gynecology (ACOG) stated that the current classification for this condition is incorrect and requested that a unique code be created.
