A new code and index entry has been added to Volumes 1 and 2 for acute and chronic forms of Coccidioidomycosis. Coccidioidomycosis is a fungus disease caused by Coccidioides immitis occurring in a primary and secondary form. It is also referred to as California Disease or Desert Fever. The primary form is an acute, benign, self-limited respiratory infection due to the inhalation of spores, and varying in severity from that of a common cold to symptoms resembling influenza and pneumonia.
