Conditions Complicating Pregnancy
Effective October 1, 2006, category 649 has been created to describe certain conditions or status of the mother, which affect the pregnancy, childbirth or the puerperium. The new code sets describe the following conditions affecting pregnancy, childbirth or the puerperium: tobacco use disorder, obesity, bariatric surgery status, coagulation defects, epilepsy, spotting and uterine size date discrepancy.
