Conjunctivochalasis

Effective October 1, 2000, code 372.8, Other disorders of conjunctiva, has been expanded to separately identify conjunctivochalasis (372.81). Conjunctivochalasis is a condition in which redundant conjunctiva overlies the lower eyelid margin and covers the lower punctum. This condition can create a variety of symptoms from aggravation of a dry eye at the mild stage, disruption of the normal flow of tears at the moderate stage, and exposure problems at the severe stage.
