Deformity and Disproportion of Reconstructed Breast

Effective October 1, 2008, category 612, Deformity and disproportion of reconstructed breast, has been created to describe disorders involving contour and asymmetry of reconstructed breasts. Contour deformities (612.0) can develop in the reconstructed breast. These breast irregularities usually occur in the superior rim of the flap several months following surgery and present a challenge to surgeons for correcting or minimizing these defects.
