Laparoscopic cecectomy
A patient presents for a laparoscopic cecectomy with anastomosis and excision of the appendix. Under direct vision, a laparoscope was placed in the abdominal cavity with CO2 utilized for insufflation of the abdomen. A portion of the cecum was removed requiring an end-to-end anastomosis in addition to removal of the appendix. The specimens were placed into an EndoCatch bag and removed. What are the appropriate CPT codes for the partial laparoscopic cecectomy and the appendectomy performed.
