Pressure Wire Evaluation with Coronary Angiocardiography

The patient is status post coronary artery stenting of the left main, proximal left anterior descending artery as well as the mid-right and distal right coronary arteries. She developed recurrent angina and was admitted to the hospital. A diagnostic heart catheterization was performed and demonstrated significant disease in the circumflex marginal system with widely patent stents in the left anterior descending artery, left main and right coronary arteries. Two days later, the patient returned to the cardiac catheterization laboratory and underwent coronary angiography with Radi pressure wire assessment. During the procedure, a Radi pressure wire was placed in the mid-left anterior descending artery. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) was measured; however, no intervention was done on the vessel. Normally, pressure wire assessment is carried out in conjunction with balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting and/or cardiac catheterization. In this case, no interventional procedure was carried out.
