A new code has been created to specifically identify primary progressive apraxia of speech: G31.87, Primary progressive apraxia of speech Apraxia of speech (AOS), is a motor speech disorder that affects an individual’s ability to plan and make the organized physical movements necessary for speech. Primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPAOS) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is chronic, insidious, and progressive.
