Is it appropriate to report CPT code 15002 , Surgical preparation or creation of recipient site by excision of open wounds, burn eschar, or scar (including subcutaneous tissues), or incisional release of scar contracture, trunk, arms, legs; first 100 sq. cm or 1% of body area of infants and children, in a patient with venous insufficiency and chronic recurrent ulceration based on the following: The wounds on the medial aspect of his right calf were excisionally debrided, full thickness, to remove a lot of overlying exudate, bioburden, and necrotic tissue. There is slight bleeding at this level, which was controlled. In a routine fashion, TheraSkin was prepared and trimmed to size. A segment less than 25cm was placed overlying the wound and sutured intact with 2-0 chromic suture. The wound dimensions remained unchanged.
