Note:As of October 1, 2004 new codes were created to report unspecified viral hepatitis C without hepatic coma (070.70) and unspecified viral hepatitis C with hepatic coma (070.71). "Viral hepatitis" refers to a collection of viral diseases which affect the liver causing similar symptoms and signs, but with differing degrees of severity, epidemiologic patterns, and chronic manifestations.
