Vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) is a condition that involves the surface of the vulva, the external female genitalia. Persistent itching is the most common symptom. Slightly raised lesions appear that differ in coloration compared to the surrounding skin. Cellular abnormalities of VIN I are usually limited to the lower third of the epithelium.
