December 2018 pages 3-4 Electrocorticography For Current Procedural Terminology (CPT ® ) 2019, code 95836 has been established and new guidelines and parentheticals have been added within the new Electrocorticography subsection in the Neurology and Neuromuscular Procedures subsection of the Medicine section to describe electrocorticography (ECoG) procedures. ECoG is used in office and hospital outpatient settings, and at epilepsy centers throughout the country to record electrical activity produced over the course of months or years during epileptic seizures to find the zones of epileptic origin.
