Two codes within that series--67901 and 67902--were revised for 2006 to more usefully distinguish different methods of repair of blepharoptosis by frontalis suspension. The descriptors now distinguish the methods based on whether the surgeon harvests autologous fascia for use as a suspension material vs use of an alternative suspension material (eg, fascia obtained from a tissue bank).
