Reporting Magnetic Resonance Examination Safety Procedures (76014-76019)
For the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2025 code set, six new codes (76014-76019) were established to report magnetic resonance (MR) safety services provided prior to and during either diagnostic or interventional MR procedures. In addition, the new subsection “Magnetic Resonance Safety Implant/Foreign Body Procedures” was established with new guidelines to clarify the appropriate reporting of codes 76014-76019 in the Radiology section. This article provides an overview of the intent and reporting of these new codes.
