Surgery: Female Genital System
Question: The patient had a diagnosis of labial hypertrophy and a labiaplasty was performed. What is the appropriate CPT code to report?
Answer: Code 56620, Vulvectomy simple; partial, should be reported. The procedure is different than just a skin/dermatologic procedure as there are nerves, arteries, and so on, that must be avoided.
