**Please Note - This Guidance has been rescinded pending additional review by CPT staff, effective 3/3/2022.** Would it be appropriate to report code 27279 for a posterior (dorsal) minimally invasive surgical (MIS) sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion or stabilization procedure? This procedure includes interpositional placement of one machined bone allograft product or biomechanical implant within the SI joint (nontransfixing). The implant or allograft does not cross the joint in a transiliac trajectory.
