Does the measurement of total body composition/fat mass, known as "air displacement plethysmography" meet the criteria for reporting CPT code 93720 (DELETED IN 2012)? The procedure is performed by entering the patient's height, age, and gender into the analyzer and having the patient step on a scale. The scale/analyzer measures body mass index, basal metabolic rate, impedance, fat percentage, fat mass, fat free mass, total body water, and desirable range and provides a printout.
