A patient receives critical care services in the emergency department (ED) on day one. The patient is later admitted to inpatient status under the medicine service, also on day one. Later in day one, a medicine-service physician speaks with the patient and the patient's family regarding advance care planning (ACP) and documents the ACP service appropriately. Is it appropriate to report the ACP services separately for this patient in this scenario?
