When performing heart catheterizations, a new pressure guidewire is used to measure the fractional flow reserve (FFR) in coronary arteries without the use of a pharmacologic stress agent, such as adenosine. This is referred to as instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR). Is it appropriate to report code 93571 and code 93572 with modifier 52 appended to indicate a reduced service for the iFR?
