When performing the treatment of an intertrochanteric hip fracture, the surgeon used fluoroscopic guidance to place a locking screw proximally through stab incisions using C-arm guidance. Anteroposterior and lateral C-arm images showed the fracture to be in excellent position. Is it appropriate to report code 76000 (REVISED IN 2013), Fluoroscopy (separate procedure), up to 1 hour physician or other qualified health care professional time, other than 71023 or 71034 (eg, cardiac fluoroscopy), in addition to code 27245, Treatment of intertrochanteric, peritrochanteric, or sub-trochanteric femoral fracture; with intramedullary implant, with or without interlocking screws and/or cerclage, for the fracture treatment?
