Category III: New EKG, shockwave codes available now

You have new CPT codes available for use right now for long-term external electrocardiographic monitoring and use of extracorporeal shockwave therapy in wound treatment. These Category III “T” codes were issued July 1 last year and took effect Jan. 1, 2012. They are not yet in the CPT manual, but are available on the AMA’s CPT website.
