COVID-19 update: CMS expands services for therapists, assistants during PHE

Medicare now will allow physical and occupational therapists to directly bill for telehealth therapy services, while therapy assistants can now perform “maintenance therapy” for Medicare patients, according to a new waiver issued by CMS and an interim final rule published in the May 8 Federal Register.
