Diagnosis coding corner: First post code freeze ICD update contains more choices for pain coders

A proposed addition to the joint pain diagnosis code family will come in handy: M25.541 (Pain in joints of right hand), M25.542 (Pain in joints of left hand) and M25.549 (Pain in joints of unspecified hand) will clear up confusion about how to report joint pain in the hands and fingers.
