Fee schedule winners and losers: A few gainers amid mostly flat payments
As the calendar flips to 2019, some specialties will see gains in expected payments under the Medicare physician fee schedule, while others will see cuts. The three groups that comprise primary care — family practice, general practice and internal medicine — will see consistent rates in the new year with what they experienced in 2018, according to estimates of allowed Medicare charges contained in the final 2019 Medicare physician fee schedule.
