Fight racial, ethnic bias in health care by measuring effects, listening

A new study shows that many health care providers are seeing racial discrimination in their workplace — against patients, and against themselves and colleagues. Even if your clinical staff don’t consciously practice discrimination, experts suggest that you take steps to see where it may be baked into your care, and to assure minority patients that their care is as important to you as anyone else’s.
