Payments to interventional pain management and pain management for J0585 (Botox injection) increased by 27% from 2011 to 2012, according to the latest data from Medicare (APCPS 11/2013). Payments to anesthesiologists rose by 28% in the same time period (see story, p. 1). Medicare covers Botox injections for chemodenervation services to treat such conditions as chronic migraine.
