Hospice Reimbursement: Seesaw Financial Future for Hospice

Policymakers want more data before moving ahead with pay reform. The proposed payment increase for hospices in 2015 seems like good news. But that upswing in reimbursement might be offset by sequestration cuts which have not been factored into the calculations. In its proposed rule for hospice payment in 2015, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) floats a 1.3 percent payment increase to hospice reimbursement rates.
