July 1 marked beginning of paper mail option.Providers that prefer the good old U.S. Post Office to the impersonal world of cyberspace should take note: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services now offers another option for hospitals to get applications for national provider identifiers in anticipation of the submission date.Bottom line: Providers can now apply for NPI in two ways: online at https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov; and by mail in a paper application form.
