Confirmation hearings continue on Capitol Hill for President Trump’s nominees in various federal departments and state programs. However, a little progress was made this week toward filling the position of CMS Administrator. Nominee Seema Verma passed the first round in the Senate Finance Committee’s hearing on March 2, 2017. The committee vote of 13 to 12, which fell along party lines with the Republicans taking the upper hand, pushes Verma to a full Senate vote for the final confirmation in the coming weeks.
